美麗的月蝕 (Beautiful Lunar Eclipse)

昨晚和太太回家時，坐在巴士的窗邊看著又大又圓的月光時，心想又是農曆十四的日子了。但回家後卻發現原來也是難得的月全蝕天文現象。月球，這個和我們最近的星體，不論東西文化，大家對月體都有不同的體會及理解。

小時候，爸媽總愛跟我在中秋說有關嫦娥及后羿的故事。懂看電視後，就見到有「月光蒙面俠」為我們主持正義。大一點，又看到以月球為代表的「月野兔 」為愛情及同伴而努力的故事。

對我來說，月球總是帶著一份浪漫淒美的感覺。由古至今，她看到不少愛情故事，所以中國民間便有「月老」一職， 以掌管人間的愛情「因緣」。

除了傳說及卡通人物外，我們的大自然也同樣受到月球的影響，大海的潮漲、潮退，四季的交替，以及不同的氣候變化，都和月球拉上不可或缺的關係。

可是，充滿理性的科學家，卻對這顆地球「夥伴」不太順眼，他們認為地球的災害緣起，正正是這位充滿「感性」的朋友所害的。所以，我們應該要把她「打下來」。在60年代的前蘇聯及美國，甚至近來的俄羅斯科學家，都曾研究用核彈把月球「打下來」的可能性。為此，他們曾建議把前蘇聯留下來的所有核彈 (約六千顆)一次打上去月球。不但可解決核彈問題，更為人類帶來好處。

當然，這個「奇異」的想法幸好只是提議，還未有實行的可能。而且，月球為我們帶來了那麼多聯想，要毀滅她總是有點可惜，也為我們帶來很多不必要的風險。 


Yesterday, when I went home with my wife after dinner, we saw a beautiful lunar and known that was Lunar 14th of June.   But, yesterday also was the Lunar Eclipse too.  This was amazing!!  I like the moon, that's not only this is a "closest partner" with us.  Whatever Western or Eastern culture, this star also provides lots of creative topics in human history.


When I was young, my parents always told me the story about Chang'e.  I also cannot forget many cartoon stories related of moon. Just like Moonlight Mask and Sailor Moon.

Except legendary and cartoon stories, for me, Romance is the other name of the moon.  The Lunar is the witness of many romance stories in human history.  So, in Chinese legendary, we have a man called "The old man under the moon", and this man is managed the love and marry relationship in human.

But, many scientists seems haven't any romance, in 60's, some of US and USSR scientists decided to destroy the moon by nuclear power.  Because they thought that many disasters in Earth are caused by the moon.  If the moon destroyed, these disasters will disappear at the same time. Then, human's life will become better.

Fortunately, this was a "amazing theory", we haven't do this yet.  Anyway, if we destroy the moon, this must destroy our thinking, and we must take the unnecessary risk in this process.
